I have a Xbox 360, but now I need a HDTV!
So now I have a Xbox 360 and im enjoying the games, I have Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, but then I realize that im playing on a over 5 year old 27” TV. It getting frustrating knowing that my games can look a lot better in HD and that the games and the system is built for HD but im not taking advantage of this because I don’t own a HDTV. Its disappointing because im only experience about half of the game experience and im missing a lot of the visual details that can only be seen and appreciated in HD.
Now we all know that HDTV’s can be expensive but im not looking to get a 42” Plasma, im looking to get a 30” Widescreen HDTV CRT (the conventional tvs that weight about 150 pounds). The CRTs produce good pictures and a good tv can be purchased for around $800.
So how will I be able to afford such a tv? Well below are my ideas.
1. Sell my collection of figures and statues. With over 200 figures/statues in there original package, I think I can make a little money back on them.
2. Create a HDTV fund. My birthday is on June 1st, so I will try to ask people if they would like to make a contribution to my HDTV fund and I will use PayPal or accept cash and/or money order. On my birthday I will take whatever is collected and then try to buy a HDTV.
3. Sell my body to science. I don’t know how much that will fetch but im sure they can figure something out :)

what are your thoughts on ps3... I hear that you have to have a 60gig hard drive and they aren't sure whether or not they are going to include it in the system or not. I am not sure why you would create games designed around having to have the HD and then not sell the HD with the system (other than to rake in revenue.)
Well, there have been reports that Sony Europe has confirmed that the system will come with a HDD which would be great since sony plans on having an online system like Xbox Live. I can tell you now for a fact that Microsoft and Sony will be losing money on every system they sell.
When it comes to videogame systems companies sell the systems for a lost and hope to over time to gain a profit but thats usually like 5 years down the line. Most of there money comes from acessories and such.
Also the HDD being included will be a good idea as right now its a hit with the Xbox and one of its selling points. I have downloaded over 10 game demos among other things and the 20 gig hard drive is almost full, i wouldnt be surprised if Microsoft offers a bigger drive later this year.
